Bleached Rock Flowers
I read the post on this topic but I don't have any doner to use.
They look healthy, other than they are bleached. They eat whenever I feed them. Usually a piece of silverside or krill. Should I start feeding them more frequently? They are the green ones but I like them and can't afford the awesome colored ones. They open up every day, take food very easily. Any other tips? I would like to get more but I need to be sure I'm not going to kill them. I have a 40b with an Orbit Marine Pro. They are on the bottom so about 16" down from the light or so. The one moved up on the side of a rock, the other one is on the bottom of the tank. How often is too often to feed? thank you! |

the one on the ground is hard to get a pic of because it's right up against the glass. And ya, I can't get rid of the cyano. ugh. They were both green when I got them - the first one looks more true to color as to when I got it but it had more green, the 2nd one was almost all green, now he's all white
I just tested every parameter in my tank yesterday and all was good except a slight ammonia which I tend to get because I seem to overfeed. I watch it closely now. My calcium was 340 so it's a hair low so I added some Seachem stuff to help raise calcium. Need to check it again today but haven't yet. Everything else was in normal parameters. |

I got a bleached one for cheap. Put it in my tank and it disappeared. A few months later it emerged from its hiding spot and it was all colored up bright red.
I would leave it to do its thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don't think there is much I can do but that's interesting!

I bought three where bleached. One turned red with green strips and the other one is a bright green with pink out lines. The last one is all brown with yellow spots. They do recover over time but do not give them a lot of light..

So they Do or don't need light? It seems I'm getting conflicting info.
Should I move them perhaps under a spot where the light isn't so bright? Yesterday someone said they probably don't have enough light. Confused! |

Dunno what light you have so I would say err on the side of less is more. Mine moved to a few spots before they found a place they liked the flow and light. You can always give more light but it's never a good idea to blast them with all the light you have if they are bleached.
Go slow give them some time to get acclimated to the light you have.
