Questions about before my first Zoanthid
Hey, So I'm looking to get my first zoanthid for my tank. I have heard about trading/selling frags after you propagate a good colony. Since I don't have access yet to the trading part of ReefCentral I was wondering how that works.
Is it better to have an exotic/rare zoanthid when it comes to trading? Using the online coral dealers, how do I know what is a rare zoanthid vs the zoanthid being overpriced? Also, what do I need to have before I buy my first zoanthid? I assume a dip. Anything else? What is the best dip? CoralRx or Seachem Reef Dip? |

Coral rx or revive by two little fishes work good, the only way to know what a zoanthid is worth is to memorize color paterns but I wouldn't worry about selling for a while, zoa thuds have a deadly toxin in them so make sure you research b4 u do nything

And where would you suggest I do the research? Are you saying some strains of zoas have a bad toxin, or I have to do research to make sure other corals in my tank won't be affected by the zoa? |

To Learn that you Just have to Learn the Market. Look at Prices at Frag Swaps Look at Prices at your LFS Look at Prices Online Look at Prices on eBay Look at Prices on Facebook Auctions Knowing the Market can take Time and it won't happen overnight. Study, Study, Study Your Best Bet would be to Hit Up Every Frag Swap you can as Corals are alot more Expensive Online and at the LFS than they are at Frag Swaps. So Frag Swaps give you the Best Idea of what Corals Really Sell for unless you want to Deal in the Super High End (Stuff that is Hundreds to Thousands of Dollars a Polyp) that stuff is all Online. Hope that Helps.

There is no reason not to. 1. It is the Most Effective Dip against Pests. 2. It is the Least Stressful Dip for Coral. 3. It is the Cheapest Dip out there.
