RO/DI fitting size

i replaced my filters and membrane and bam, all the fitting just started leaking. Curious if ya'll know the npt size of the john guest elbow 1/4 fittings that go in and out of all the prefilters on rodi systems. I want to say they are 1/4 not positive. i want to order a bunch on amazon because i dont have time to run back and forth to HD.

They should be 1/4” all 3 of my systems are 1/4”. If it’s the threads that leak a Teflon pipe sealant tape will fix the problem without replacing the fittings.

Thanks, thats what i was thinking.. Def not the threads. its the push portion. Odd that they all started going crazy at once. I guess i have to attribute it to the increase in pressure with new filters. The system is about 8 years old so all good things must come to an end i rekon..

Thanks again brotha.

I keep fittings in my parts collection, every once in a while they just won’t grab.

Good luck, nothing worse than the spouse getting wet socks because of a leak.

Haha. Rodi is in the garage. She's more ****ed she can't wash rice with rodi at the sink.. because my goddess doesn't let mere tap water touch our rice..

Try cutting the hose a few inches back or replace the hose. I had the hose develop a grove and leak.

I was going to say the same thing. You only need to cut off 1/2" or. Just remove the hose first.

Years back, I bought a lot of various sizes of the john guest fittings from lowes. Now that I started running low on the common sizes, I went to buy more just to have on hand. The prices have doubled or even tripled!!! For one fitting it was $5-6, when they were less than $2 five years years ago.

Stock up, in another 5 years they will be $10 a piece.

Johnny, there's a water store in Lancaster that carries all the John Guest fittings and they were cheap.

Good to know. I got the new fittings installed. I tried new line just to see if it would fix the leaks, but it did not. I had to replace 4 leaking elbows, and i have one union that is still dripping a tiny bit. Pretty good for a 10 year old chinese RO/DI system. After i replaced all my filters and membrane, I am getting .06 tds before my DI resin.
