DC24 port?

I am trying to see if I can use the APex DC24port for my fan.

This what on the fan:

Input 100-240V AC
Output: 1-12V
100-1200mA

I am guessing need a step down converter like this in able to work:

I use two fans to cool my 300 gallon. They aren’t the quietest but the work VERY well for me and they are cheap. If you use a 24vdc fan you don’t need anything else. I added a fuse in series because Neptune says there is not circuit protection on the 24vdc outputs.

Example:

WINSINN 80mm Fan 24V Brushless 8025 80x25mm for Cooling PC Computer Case CPU Set-top Box Router Receiver DVR Playstation Xbox - 2Pin (Pack of 2Pcs) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H76Z5Y2..._3mcdEb7WAPVQG

Nope sorry won’t work like that. It uses 12VDC fans but the already installed the power supply 120vac to 12VDC. So it’s 120vac.

The Apex 24vdc can supply something like
And run 12VDC accessories but You’ll be playing fankinstin with your new cool fan. Also will only be full speed and Off. Kinda looks like you can change the speed on that one.

You would have to cut the cord on the power supply they provide and then wire that part of the cord to the output. Wire the input the to 24vdc supply threw a fuse (BRS sell a bare cable). Then it will work.

You should include a fuse before you power $40 fan from the power supply on a $700 apex. Could get expensive.

1.5amp fuse should be enough.

Another question; What about the Kessil H80? It says 24vdc and 15W max. Could this be plugged into 24v port? I am trying to add outlets that is why asking this running out of room. So my idea is to move fan to 24V port; Kessil H80 or ATO to that port. I do have a FMM module but I think you need to add power supply to that in order to use the 24V port.

What it says on kessil:

Power Consumption
15W maximum

Input Voltage 24VDC

Listed Power Supply
Input 100-240VAC, 50-60Hz
Output 24VDC, maximum 1A

DC24 port?

Should work. Again the apex 24vdc supply need fuses.

Side note if you get the current to high you’ll brown out the Apex and it will reset. This is what happened when I over used one link ports (same power supply in apex).

I exaggerated on the reef tank crashing title.
