Old newbie needs lighting advice!
Hey guys, I did post over in the nano forum but thought I would also try here. I havent had a tank up in over 5 years and ive gotten the itch again. Ive decided to give a go at a 10 gal nano. I have the tank cycling with 16 lbs local lr and 15 lbs of ls while I figure out lighting.
I was looking at this: http://www.marinedepot.com/AquaticLi...FIT54U-vi.html Withthose lights on a standard 10 gal tank be enough to keep lps? What about clams/anenomes? Also, ive read a lot about t5 vs led. I really want a contained plug and play unit, but I did build my 80 gal myself, from the stand to the sump to the hood and lighting, so im not afraid of a bit of hard work but I am in an apartment now so options are limited for workspace. Any ideas? Thanks!

I think i found it. Theres alot of different options, and im not sure i understand the abbreviations you used. Do these go into a hood of some sort? Sorry I am super new to t5 and leds, i would use halides if I thought I could keep the tank cool enough lol

I kept a 6g in my bedroom with a 70w hqi and it would heat up not just the tank, but, the entire room. Even with air conditioning, here in north texas, it would heat the tank to 84 and higher. I changed to led lamps (par 38 LED) and the differance was huge. Stays much, much cooler. Just thought I'd share this since you are in another hot state.

Nanoreefer I really apreciate your input here, and at the risk of beating a dead horse i have to ask....with that color combo wont i get a very blue tank? Ive been reading alot and it seems the more I read the less I know!
What about the need for the red and green spectrums? Thanks! Donna
