DIY sump build help

I have a 29g mixed reef. Tank is drilled with a 1" bulkhead. My stand doesnt have much room to buy a sump so I am building an acrylic one. This will be done with either 1/4 or 3/8 acrylic. Put together with Weld on 4. It will be 14" tall with a water depth of about 7". Any critique would be great.
Skimmer is a SWC xtreme 120 cone skimmer. 6"x 7.25" footprint

Have you checked to see if a 10g would fit underneath? My 29 stand fits a 10g snug inside like it was made to. Just a thought.

Are you going to be able to adjust the flow through the fuge?

If you can fit all that in a 10 gallon and make it work, I'd be impressed! Post pics when you're done.

I have read a fuge needs to be 105 of the water volume. Don't know why, but I think you should skip the fuge or the frag rack. Do you have an ATO? The return section looks awful smal to account for evaporation.

I was thinking this too. I think your sump area will be very crammed with your cone skimmer plus the lighting you will need for frags and your refugium. I would suggest trying to squeeze a 20 gallon under there or possibly eliminate the frag rack all together.

Is your 29 gallon a long or tall? My 20 gallon sump fits under my 30 long with plenty of room to spare.
