Pictures/thoughts of Radion over 36 inch long tank?
Thinking of purchasing one Radion over my 36 inch long tank probably using the wide angle lens kit ....wondering if anybody has thoughts or experiences with this combo. Any pictures would be greatly appreciated also thanks....tank 36 x 18 x 20

I think you'll want/need two. It in part depends on what you want for coral. For sps/acros, I'd definitely say two. Even for softies/lps, if you have one light hung high enough to give you good coverage across 36 inches, you're going to have a lot of light spilling out in front of and behind your tank I think. Just my opinion. You could try two xr15s instead of one xr30. Then, You could always add more if you felt the need.

I know several people who have a single XR30 with wide angle lens over a 36" tank.
They seem pretty happy with it. But I agree, in a perfect world 2 of the XR15 Pro's would be better.

2 is out of budget for now... Don't mind having it alittle dimer on sides but I don't want a bunch of light spillage from using wide angle.

If you use a hanging kit, rather than rms mount, you can experiment with the height of the fixture to find the best balance of lighting the edges without too much spillage. If you're ok with hanging the light fairly high above the tank, you could start with the standard lenses and see how it goes.

Not sure what I was talking about two of the 15's is basically the same amount of money as one of the 30s I think I'm leaning towards 215's and then I can adjust them as needed thanks guys.

Thanks…saltwatercoral2 ...Which lenses are you using? Do you have a lot of light spillage out of the tank? And I What assume you keep your lights fairly low level what level would that be? Thanks for all your replies

Pictures/thoughts of Radion over 36 inch long tank?
I opted for 2 XR30s over my 65 gallon. Main decision was: already had 1 XR30, and I couldn't do just one with the tanks center brace.
One nice thing about having two: I installed wide angle lenses on the two pucks in the middle of the tank to prevent shadowing. Lens layout | 90 120 | | 120 90 |
