Kalk on doser programming
I'm in the middle of setting up a 250g tank (pics coming Soon) I have the Avast Marine Kalk stirrer and want to start off dosing it while my tank is new until i get my Calcium Reactor online. I know the traditional way is to hook up to auto top off but i don't want to do that, caused big big problems on my last system. Any way can i hook it up to my doser and program it to go off every hour for a certain amount of time? If so does anyone have the programming on Apex to do so?

Pretty easy if you going to use a DOS - just think up a volume you want to add & plug it in.
I T off my ato for the RO delivery line to the dos |

With a pump like a BRS 1.1 doser, you can use this utility to write the code:

If you go the BRS-1.1/Reeftronics route, you'll need to add a WHEN command to the code. I don't think the command was available when the Reeftronics' code generator was created.

You are correct that the Dosing Program Generator has been around for much longer than the relatively new Apex ‘When’ command. But you are incorrect about ‘When’. A ‘When’ statement shouldn’t be used in conjunction with an OSC. There’s no value to doing so. I created that tool, and I would definitely have updated it if the inclusion of a ‘When’ statement were of any benefit. |

RussM,
I stand corrected. I've been fixating too much on ATO code lately. Thank you for creating the Dosing Program Generator - I'd be lost without it. Bob
