Smile Researching Hobby

I am researching the hobby with plans to start a 180-200 gallon tank in the near future. Just finished building a tank stand for a six foot tank. In the process of buying parts needed for the hobby. Any suggestions?

I am not by any means an expert but suggestions will be based on a swarm of questions. What type of tank do you want? Fish only, FOWLR (fish only with live rock) or a reef tank.

Take your time, read a lot, find local reefers, use RO/DI water, be patient, read enough to understand how fish interact with one another before purchasing, never impulse buy fish or coral and when things seem like the end, stick it out.

Specific questions are good, but remember everyone has opinions and they are just that!

When 20 smart people tell you it won't work and one person says "Shoot, I did that worked fine!" - don't listen for the answer you want.

Research the type of corals and fish you really want an then determine what equipment is best. Otherwise you may find yourself buying equipment multiple times. Also would suggest thinking of ways to scape your tank so that you can easily get access to all walls for cleaning. You break a lot of corals if you don't plan this out trying to get in places to clean glass
