Beautiful Reef Art (Karen Talbot)

So I was looking to spruce up my office a bit (I have an office tank). I looked on the forum and saw a post about Karen Talbot. I looked on her site and really liked what I saw.

Today I received four prints and they are just gorgeous! They were packaged really well and just look great. They come with nice mats - I got the frames from a local store.

I could not recommend her any higher. Give her site a look if you are looking for something beautiful for your home or office:

(p.s. And no, I don't work for her....)

Great art on this thread. I really like your work, oldhead, esp the portrait. I have 0 talent, but I come from a family of artists, so I know the talent & hard work involved. I found these notecards on IG, the artist’s site is www.natewilsonpaints.com if anyone is interested. Pic below:

Me too!!!

The only drawings I can do are on a drafting table with a straightedge and pencil.

I like Karen's stuff a lot.

I really need to get back into painting... it's been YEARS.
But here's a few of my most "recent".

The first two are pretty large... my buddy's toddler daughter behind a park bench, and my mom's basset hound. And then a small random beach scene from one of my pics.
All oil paintings.
Sorry, no fishy content!

Excellent work. I never have tried oil or acrylics.

Thanks!
I always preferred oils because they stay wet for so long. I can work on the painting for an hour today, then go back tomorrow and work some more, etc. Even if it starts drying, some mineral spirits gets things going again. And since I lean more towards realism, I can slowly layer and blend over time.

I dabbled a little in water color not long ago and I have some ollllld pencil stuff back from my school days I should dig up and photograph.

Wow! Who knew there was a thriving artist’s colony on R/C! Y’all are both amazing. I collect fantasy & science fiction art, our walls are so covered in paintings now that hubs won’t let me go to gallery shows anymore! (well he *tries* to keep me away - lol) I’ve already brought up the subject of some ‘fish’ pieces. Let’s just say it was an interesting conversation! I do have a piece I commissioned that hangs above the DT. An ‘ocean’ full of fantastical ‘fish’(?).

Keep ‘em comin’ y’all! I hope more of our ‘secret artists’ contribute to this thread!

That would make a good tattoo. I have a drawing on my desk from my bosses grand daughter. I had her sign her name to it.
