No preset graphs. Not that big a deal. You know what you use now, just recreate it in Fusion...

I've decided, before I go any further with the tank, to DIY build a stand to replace what it's on now. I'll be building it this weekend I'll post pics. I'll be using the plans in the DIY forum here.

Nice..that will give you some decent flow around the rocks.. Smart idea on the build, having a little higher stand and one with cabinets will give it a clean look

I love the fact that I can set up the pumps to run at different settings and mix it up during the day..

What I do not like is the lighting graph..I was running at 16k and 15.5 and they do not have a present for that. If I adjust I do not know if I am at 15.5 or even 14.. I may be missing something here. Let me know

For each time point there is a color selection, I know they have all the major temps covered. Maybe not your two temps. But if you use the closest setting, then adjust the sliders, you should get close. It will say custom once you change it. See attached..
You have a G3 so you may have other color sliders too...

Welcome! I got a 150 watt aqueon pro heater at petco on sale for $40

I'm also still deciding on a skimmer, but leaning towards the cad 50 or the aquamax HOB

I saw that... Also saw over on the neptune forum the break down..I found this schedule and tweaked it a little... Also created this for the vortech and the back one is running in anti sync

Programming is all done as well...So we should be all set!

It's all about budget and future use...
Skimmer if I was to do it again, tunze or cad lights. ghost is ok.
ATO, tunze nano. Or if you plan on bigger someday, the full unit
Power heads, depends on your budget. A couple of us have dual mp10s.some use jebao. The jebao is Big Bang for little $. The mps have amazing flexibility. Again ,if you plan on bigger someday give it thought.
Heater, any trusted brand 150w or 175s should do it as long as it has a good controller.
Consider upgrading the stock circ pump too. For I think 90 bucks you can add a lot more circ.
Welcome and good luck with your tank!

Oh yea, ask us and we will help you spend your $$$$!

Welcome... This not my first tank, so I went with the higher end products just because I want to not purchase again. Rather have my wife faint after one month credit card bill

I am running the following:

Skimmer: Ghost, if I did it again, I would run the aquamaxx hob-1
Heater: Colbalt Aquatics Neo-Therm (150w)..I have it fully submerged
ATO:Tunze 3155
Power Head: (2) Ecotech MP10s..you can get these used or over at tb aquatics for $199.99
Lights: I run radions G3 and love them.

Let us know what else you need help with..if we don't know, we will make up the answer

Famous last words! That's a fairly aggressive lighting schedule! My gen 1 has a lot less power and I dont run that high...but I'm a wuss too...I'm also waiting on ecotech to get the gen3 pro kits in to have mine upgraded...
Just did my wc. Everyone is happy....that gives me time to set the doser up Saturday...
Thinking now of setting both mps on one side too. Getting the dreaded sand divots...

Ha. Seriously! I was running up to 70% with 15.5k so I figured I would push the envolope on this one. I like the mp10 on both sides, enjoy the flow.

Ya.. Don't worry about, my coral are still stressed from the crash. More flow is never a bad idea, especially if you haven't upgraded the return pump.

Yep. Good little pump for just that purpose. I had one for while too. Does the job just fine!
Let everything settle in a while..

the jebao's are awesome I highly recommend them you can even buy a set of 2 with a controller that syncs both for $100.

I would trying and find some good used mp10s... they are for sale on here and over on manhattan reef site. Even if you get an older model, you can still upgrade them for a reasonable price. The way you can program them both through ecotech and apex is amazing.

Um, what he said...if you are going long term, then might as well go for it now..with the new qd pumps and the gyre out, there's a glut of good used mps listed in various places.
And if you get into controllers...they are ready. As long as they are wireless. Heck, if you get a real good deal on non wireless, the conversion is under $50!
It takes about 2 minutes to plug the rf board into the driver..

Like I said, we will be happy to help you spend your $$!
