Finally MY 90 Gallon Reef Build
Finally its here! My 90 gallon build thread is here! so far I haven the stand that I got used for $75! It's an oak stand and canopy that is very well built! Although I wasn't a fan of the stain color so I decided to strip off all the color which was a process in and of itself! I had to go through 2 bottles of stripper amounting up to 6 coats! Terrible! After all that was done I came out with the final product
Stand and doors Hood I also picked up 4 20 pound bags of oolite live sand. Got a discount, usually $120 for all 4 bags but they gave it to me for $85! I am picking up about 70 pounds of live rock from a local person selling it for $2 a pound. Which is a rockin deal he also said he would throw in a couple hydor korilla powerheads for free. I am planning a herbie overflow (I think is what it is called) here is a rough diagram of the layout of everything. Sorry it's a little rough and I will be adding more pictures as I get more things. Sand (2 20 pound bags per box) I am planning on ordering a reef octopus 150 protein skimmer. Here is the link! Great price I think and I would really like some help on plumbing. What do I need? Aquascaping ideas? I would really like the minimalist idea maybe 2 small islands but I don't know if that will be able to work..... Skimmer: http://www.directaquarium.com/Produc...30758&CartID=1 My potential stocking list includes: 1 lemonpeal mimic tang 2 clown fish 1 tailspot blenny 1 mandarins goby 1 leopard wrasse 1 pink spotted sand sifting goby 3 lyre tail anthiases 1 long nose butterfly fish (still thinking) Inverts: Blue tuxedo urchin Maxima clam 10 nassarius snails 1 fighting conch Tons of variouse snails and crabs Corals: Variouse SPS Lots of LPS Softies/mushrooms/zoanthids Last edited by ConnorG; 04/23/2012 at 10:08 PM. |
