ID Please

Got a new anemone today. Pretty sure it's a Ritteri but I just wanted to make sure.

Not a ritteri (H. magnifica), but luckily an LTA (Macrodactyla doreensis). They are much easier by comparison. BTW, they usually prefer sandy areas, so try it toward the bottom.

I had it on the sand but it was rolling around. So I sat him on a rock and it looks like it attached itself.

Clear the sand down to the bottom, place anemone, put some decent sized rocks around it so the anemone can attach to hard substrate under the sand.

fwiw: I agree it looks like M. doreensis to me as well.

Should I wait and see what it does? Or should I go ahead and stick him in the sand?

If he didn't attach already I would put him on the sand.

He looks like he's attached. It hasn't moved much at all where I put it. The foot looks attached to me.

If it is attached, leave it alone. I would see what it does for the time being. In the meantime, please take the time to cover up any powerhead intakes to protect it while it settles down.
