Protein Skimmer help...
I have a Reef Octopus Classis 100 HOB Skimmer and the left container/chamber keeps overflowing. Is something clogged up? It has never done this in the last 2 months. Any thoughts is appreciated.

Is there filter foam in the left chamber?
I have the RO bh2000, I had the same thing happen to me, turned out the foam in the left chamber clogged with detritus and caused it to overflow. I just removed the foam and it went back to running as normal. Honestly I’m glad I did because it would have caused nutrient issues down the road. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

There is, assuming you mean the foam block thing? You’re saying just pull that out and I should be good to go? Thanks

Yes pull that foam block out and I’ll bet you find a whole bunch of junk on the bottom side of it.
I saw in your photo that you’re using the foam on your return too. That’s a matter of preference but I don’t use mine, again it just collects debris and doesn’t really cut down on the micro bubbles all that much. If you wanted to you could remove that too but that’s not causing your overflow, the internal block is. Let me know how you get on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
