UPDATE:
Well, the sump is on order. I made a couple modifications before submitting the order. We'll see how it turns out when it arrives. I thought about building it myself but with the cost of materials I felt it was best to leave it to the pros. Couldn't afford to make a mistake that big. Should be here in a couple weeks. I started building the bottom shelf where the sump will live. Made a basic frame, glued and screwed it together, then leveled and secured it to the front wall and legs. I will finish shimming underneath so the weight is distributed to the floor, not the screws. Going to pick up some 3/4" ply this weekend and will probably laminate it with the same material as the top.

One of these weekends I am going to move my 180 behind a wall just like you did. I currently have my sump under the tank. When mine goes behind the wall I am going to bring the sump out from under the tank and put perpendicular to the tank. My skimmer is under the stand and it is coming out as well.

You ask and you shall receive. Here's some sketchup plans of the plumbing so far. Up for debate at this point.

Very nice plumbing plans! But I think you just cheated yourself out of a dozen trips to the hardware store to get that part you didn't think you'd need.

Very nice graphics. I told myself I wouldn't post to this thread until the sump was in place, and now that you have a virtual sump, the code of silence is lifted.
Turn that skimmer around so the cup is near the front and the output is on the left side of the sump. More travel time means less bubbles in the return section. |

Thanks a lot Electrobes. I tend to go a little overboard on the details sometimes. Thanks for stopping in and following along.
