Help Please

I'm setting up a automatic water change with a Litremeter III system. Part of the plan making it bulletproof is to install a mechanical float on the output line for the pump supplying ASW to the sump. I have a couple of questions:

1. Will a mechanical float valve be able to cut-off flow from a running LItremeter II pump?

2. Would this damage the pump, tubing, or cause other problems?

Thanks in advance for any assistance of advice you can provide.

The pump can generate up to 60 psi. If your float (and all the connections) can work with that kind of pressure, it's probably OK.

The pump can handle it, but hopefully not on a continuous basis. It will be OK in a back-up situation.
