Here's a video as requested! He was a little timid for the first 2 days, but he's now out in the open all the time. I can imagine him being the king of the tank in a few months time.
He was a bit under $400, compared to the $50-70 price tag for a regular purple tang of that size here. https://youtu.be/-lTkyUiO1fE

You paid 6-8 times what a normal purple tang would sell for?
...I guess as long as stores aren't chopping off tails for profit.

???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!???????!!!!!!!!!? You paid $400 for a deformed purple tang? I think it’s cool, but no chance I’d have paid extra for it. Wow. |

Congratulations on your finding. Good to see that it is in good hands. The injury seems to have healed well so probably an old injury. Correct me if I am mistaken.

haha, i guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder! i myself don't get the bounce mushroom craze, not my type of corals for sure.
i saw there was another thread about an albino yellow tang... i'll probably consider paying mucho dinero for that. compared to the price of a gem or a black tang, i feel that this $400 was money well spent for something a little different i'll am really curious to see how his lack of tail might affect his personality as he matures... hopefully more docile rather than extra aggressive
