Any Spearfishers?
I know I have met at least 2 RC members from my area that also spearfish, just wondering who else does

I spearfish, but only freshwater. I don't live anywhere near a coast, and when I do get to saltwater it's usually in marine parks where spearfishing is prohibited. I might try it someday though.

I do, the gag grouper, red snapper and amberjack are excellent candidates....they love my fish cooker...they jump right in!

Go spearfishing for Lionfish in the Caribbean. Then have tasty meals afterward.

And back in the 90's here...Gulf...many a zillion grouper snapper, amber jack....until I had one to many encounters with the big guys in grey suits...the last being a 12 foot mako..who was very hungry......so now I just use a hook and line...seems much fairer !! Richard TBS www.tbsaltwater.com |

That's awesome! My only shark run in was with a 10-12' seven gill off Carlsbad,ca it was super murky and by the time I saw it, we were 4' face to face haha

lol. that's like my son and I, 10 years old at the time, were snorkeling with a hawaiian sling around palm beach and had a few snapper in tow. then about a 8 foot bull decided we weren't eating snapper that day. keeps your head on a swivel for sure. |
