What other fish did you have with this trigger? Are you getting rid of it because the fish is too aggressive? What size tank did you have it in? Male or female? How long have you had it for? Sorry for all the questions...

heres a pic of it from just now when the lights just turned on. the store told me it was a male. had him with a yellow tang, vlimingi tang, yellow coris wrasse, 2 clowns had him for about 3 months. hes not aggressive at the other fish hell my clowns pick at him. i'm just tired of him trying to nip at my hand each time i move the corals around

Males have the blue throat, females do not.
I love my blue jaw, great fish, very personable. |

I have never seen him munch on any coral, or a clam, not ever. Now, I did lose a HUGE gigas clam not long ago, but I do not think my trigger was the cause. I've never SEEN him do anything wrong. Does he? Who knows. But, no corals appear to be munched on. Normally when a fish does it, it's regular enough you'll catch him. I had a Kleins butterfly that developed a taste for acans after two years of being a model citizen, and once he did, I saw him do it all the time, so out he came.
Bluethroats are one of the safest triggers you can put in your reef, if not THE safest. They're awesome fish, I'd take a chance on it every time. |
