Toxic Green Hair Alage

I have been battling a Green Hair Alage problem for over a year. I believe I have isolated the issue down to rocks which I added from another reefer which I believe were high in phosphate. As my levels are always nitrate 0 phosphate .008 elos pro kit.

The issue I am having is that anything I add to the tank to eat the green hair alage ends up mysteriously dieing. I’ve tried all different types of snails but any that eat GHA will die in a week or two while my nasserius or conchs will last months.

Same with fish I had 2 foxfaces which I added that ate GHA but both died in the first week. While my current foxface has never touched GHA and has been going strong for 6 months. Same story with tangs lost a convict tang and salfin back to back which were both eating GHA.

Coincidence or is there any strains of GHA which are toxic?

never had a strain or even heard of one that kills fish

you may have other issues at hand

not sure maybe they were munchin on the algae and got some of the toxic palythoas?
