Local place called Costen flooring. Not sure where it was ordered from but it took 2-3 weeks to be milled and delivered.

Not yet but I will. Just sucks b/c they have the formula for the stain etc. That quote pretty much ruined my day so I think I just need to sit back and gather my thoughts. I will definitely get other quotes. Hell, I used to build furniture for a living. For $2k, I could buy some tools back and do it myself if I had the time.

Back on track with the tank. I was able to negotiate the price down a bit with my builder. He said it would take about 3 weeks to finish but will try to get the base stand framed and ready for doors so it can be moved into place and the plumbing/electrical can begin.

I posted a thread in RD for this but wanted to add my query here as well.
My tank was made from a standard 300DD. I had the corner overflows removed and then one end drilled for a custom overflow to do a peninsula setup. Now I need to plug the 4 holes drilled in the bottom. My plan was to use bulkheads and a PVC cap but the bulkheads hit the frame underneath. I was told to use glass and silicone on the top and bottom but curious what type, thickness and what silicone is best. I would assume tempered would be ideal but not sure if I can get 2 4x4" pieces of glass cut. From my furniture days, I remember getting custom tempered was an ordeal. I was told glass will adhere better than acrylic as well. TIA.

Yes, you definitely want tempered glass. Call around to some local glass shops to see what they have laying around.

Local place said they could do it but it's 5 foot min. I was worried it would be outrageous but I think he said it would be around $75 a piece for like a 6"x6" min. He is calling me back on the minimum size they will temper. I assume I want 1/2" tempered at minimum and want to silicone a piece to the bottom of the glass and fill the void from the holes with silicone. Let that set up and then do one on top of the glass bottom where the water will be.

1/2" sounds about right. That's going to be a heck of a lot of water volume and rocks bearing weight on the bottom of the tank. You'll want a very secure seal.

Nice build!
That stand frame looks pretty solid. Love that flooring. I'm a finish carpenter/cabinet guy, not sure what you are going w/ but just looking at your place and assuming a stain grade cabinet fitting that look your builder is probably charging about the same as I would, good material and quality work isn't cheap these days, but I'm sure it will be worth it when all is finished. Following this one as well.

I got a follow up email from one of the cabinet guys I talked to. He ended up asking around and came back to say I am crazy if I don't get my builder to do it at that price And I was able to talk my builder down
I also just ordered 2 pieces of 12"x12" 1/2" tempered glass. 3/4" would have taken 3+ weeks and cost like $350-400. He felt confident the 1/2" tempered will be plenty strong.

I also love my pair. The skimmate though is REALLY REALLY nasty though. I did have problems with one pump on one skimmer dying after two weeks of service. Took forever to get replaced unfortunately. Aside from that, they're worth every penny.

I have a SRO XP5000 int. And never had a problem with it. It pulls the nastiest stuff ever. Octo makes a great product.
Didnt you burn them with your lunch?

I had an Octopus extreme 200 with a bubble blaster pump on my old tank.
