Bubble magus curve 7
Hi everyone I bought a rimless 60 cube recently and it came with a bubble magus curve 7. Before I start the tank I was wondering if this skimmer is to large for the tank does anyone think I will have problems running this skimmer?

yeah its overkill.. But run it and see how it does..
As long as you can pull some decent skimmate out then its likely fine and wouldn't make any sense to downgrade.

It will probably work out just fine if you add in a sump volume of 10g or more. I agree, try it out for a little while and see how it performs.

Thanks for your reply. I'll be running it in a trigger 20 cube probably at the highest water height of 9.5 inches. Now I just need to get the plumbing done on it. I have a one and a half inch drain on the tank but the cube has a one inch bulk head on it. Should I reduce the drain to one inch in the tank or reduce it coming out of the bulk head on the bottom?

Probably doesn't make a difference, but I'd do it on bottom.

I have a Curve 9 on my 100g and it's too much.
Skimmate collection is irregular and too many overflows. I'm 'upgrading' to a Eshopps S-200 to see how it does. I'd suggest their S-100 series for you.

I have a Curve 5 on my 75G tank and I wish I had gone with the Curve 7. I like the skimmer, but the curve 7 has the option for the auto neck cleaner, and it's taller so I could use the cup drain. Mine sits almost totally in my sump so that won't work.
