Jbvdhp... I also have a Blue spot for a few years as well. I purshased it as a tiny aprox 1" juvi and it grew fast about 6" now. Although it eats everything now, all types of frozen, pellets, flakes etc.. And is one of the few fish fish that constantly hunts all day eating even those mini serpant stars. Hermits and small snails are on the menu as well. I started feeding it live pods at first and then it gradually accepted other foods.

Yeah mike I was hoping she would make it into my 240, but didn't make it. She ate (what I saw as a lot) with the other fish too. Really sad, pretty fish.

I picked one of these up at my LFS today. Although after reading this thread now I'm a little nervous.

He's in a 10 gal. QT with a juvenile Clown and Pajama Cardinal. I'm hoping they will get along until they are moved to the DT.

I'll try and take a picture later today and post it. He's such a beautiful fish, I hope I can keep him alive.

Well, the original holotype photo is out there, but that is the only one I know of.
Not exactly as stunning as a preserved fish.

Never heard of one being kept. Would love to see one in someone's tank.

That photo doesn't do them justice at all. I have seen a few terminal males, and they were absolutely stunning. Unfortunately at well over a foot, I felt they would have been better off left in the wild instead of exported. No idea how well they adapt to captivity at that size.

Reviving this old but productive thread. Has anyone got a red tail or yellow tail tamarin recently?

What would be the ideal size for best odds of survival? A vendor has two 4 inch red tail females and I'm pondering getting one or both.

I would love to have people post more experiences with A. neoguinaicus. I just got mine today. She started to eat mysis already. My QT is full of pods. I hope she will do well.

OrianN.....how are your China Wrasses doing? I finally decided to try one again. I got him on Monday, did a drip acclimation and put him straight into my DT. Was eatting Mysis at the LFS. Eats Mysis from day one for me. Keeping my fingers crossed this time!

My pair did great. I had option of getting a third one but I passed. They hunt all day long but also eat pretty much everything I feed the tank. So far very trouble free.

Oh that's great! My first I had for several years, and he was probably about 8 inches when he died. After that I have not had good luck with them. They are always eatting Mysis and picking at rocks, then a week or two later they don't come out of the sand. So I am trying again. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Do you have any tips for me? I just added about a bunch of pods the other day too. He is eating Mysis from day one.....he is about 3 inches big!

Does anybody know about the approximate size of a China Tamarin when they may change from female to male? I have two in my 320 and would love to have a pair.

Minh, mine is about three inches and still female, although there is some slight markings on the head showing some color, but the body color is all female.

Mike, I recalled you only have 1 instead of a pair? You have seen mine recently, is your larger than my large one?
