My emerald crab has stopped eating

...and moving. A friend of mine gave me a reasonably large (his body is at least the diameter of a quarter) a couple of weeks ago. I put him in my 16 gal reef which is new and has the typical green algae found in a new tank. He began to eat like there was no tomorrow as soon as I put him into the tank but he has gradually just retired. He has finally perched on the underside of a coral branch and has been there for three days. He doesnt even get excited when I put food into the tank. Has anyone seen this in an emerald crab? I am afraid that he might be sick but really have no idea what to do. I need him to get to work and eat some green stuff!
Chris

He may have molted. Crabs will chill until their shell hardens fully.

Agree with HBtank, after molting they become considerably lethargic for several days.

I would love for that to be the case but I cannot see an empty shell anywhere. Will hope for the best.
