Help with ID

I've skimmed this thread and searched countless hitchhiker websites and just can't ID this one. Newly cycled Picotope (6 weeks or so). It's dark brown or black, about the size of a grain of rice but round and fat - very similar to a fly pupa. You can see whatever appendages it uses for feeding, no visible legs but I haven't pulled it out. Tank is bare bottom. I saw it for the first time slowing moving last night, still in the same general area this morning when I turned the lights on.

Thanks!

Hi guys/gals may I get some help ID'ing?

This red stuff is cool--it deflates when you come near the tank.

Thanks Cloak! He's def a basket star now that I've looked at more images. He's the coolest hitchhiker.

And yes yellow and red tunicates. I'm glad I have names for them now. I feel like I should flip the rock upright so the red colony can be seen better. I actually just rescaped the rock and I had them in the sand, doh!

Hidden cup coral for sure--you're right on. Thanks a bunch!

Tanks been running 2 months

After two months of having it running I saw something growing. Could y'all help me identify it?

Any help on these two would be helpful, I tried to do a google search but just couldn't seem to come up with a proper way to phrase this snail like creature below. Round shell that is shaped like a pyramid with a point in the center, sucks algae like a snail, and has two weird horn looking protrusions from inside his shell.

Second ID help is these white and black or possibly white and green worm looking deals that are attached to the rockwork that just sway in the flow. Really skinny and small so it is hard to get an accurate color from my crappy eyesight. I have hermits and an urchin that frequent that area but it looks like they always leave those things alone.

Can't help you with the snail, but those "worms" are mini brittle stars catching food. They're a good thing to have. :-)

PS... Thinking your snail may be a limpet. Nothing wrong with it, I'm thinking.

Awesome thanks for the quick replies, glad the brittle stars are a good thing, I have quite a few on that rock and the prospect of removing them all given their small size did not seem fun. From a quick image search of limpets, that appears to be what it is, thanks! 2/2 on the unknowns being beneficial, nice.

Urchin? Does it come out? I mean it totally looks like an urchin from here but pics can be deceiving.

I just spotted it for the first time after I reorganized the rock, and I haven't seen it move. I thought urchin, too, but because it hasn't moved from there in 2 days I'm thinking not an urchin or dead.

The first two pictures are of a limpet. (harmless) The third one is of micro brittle stars hidden in the rocks. (harmless)

If it hasn't moved at all, it might be a barnacle of some sort. That's what those white protrusions on the rocks look like at least.

My guess would be a couple hidden cup corals.

That looks just like a gorilla crab, I do get the visual of porcelain crabs and gorilla's mixed at times though.

I am sure a crabbie patty person will be able to identify it quickly.
