To tell you the truth, I am not sure, I have always called them sand polyps for some reason. It is a cool coral to watch. It opens and closes its polyps at night and when feeding.

Well your in luck. i saw a thread asking what kind of palys those were and someone had mention they looked like true palys, which cover the rock like GSP instead of spreading and having individual polyps. those look EXACTLY the same, so now you know .

New yuma, in the tank about 5 hrs with lights off, then half hr or so with them on to get pictures.

A better pic of my new yuma. Im not sure Ive got it in the right spot yet.

It was sold as 2 polyps, Ive found 5 so far, without really searching under the main one.

It's a very happy yuma in both spots, healthy, great looking mouth and spiky polyp extension. He looks a little hungry. I bet he'd make the cookie monster sounds with some mysis shrimp.
