I know this is gonna be a huge thread revival but if you still have this tank I would love to see an update. I was planning on doing the same exact thing with a 24" marineland cube. I was thinking a plated seahorse would be a nice contrast next to a reef tank.

I always love the look of mangroves popping out the top. Plus makes for a great nitrate sink
