Nice, how much did you pay for that camera and lens? I get my package part 1 today and would like to get some nice pics as I add livestock later.

Did you use a macro lens, or is that one that came with the Sony package?

First 3 pics are from Sony A6000 & the 16-50mm lens that it comes with.
4th pic is with Sony regular PNS cam. The rest are with Canon 10d & 100mm macro lens. The 100mm macro lens is the BEST. Cheapest thing to do is to buy a used Canon 40d (less than $200) & a used Canon 100mm 2.8 macro. Learn how to use those & you will never be disappointed. Pickup an all around zoom lens as you go. When you buy a used Canon lens, you don't have to worry because it holds its value. Actually the lens has gone up by $100 since I owned mine.

Here is very useful & interesting feature about the Sony A6000. It's flash is on a spring mount that lets you bend from straight forward to straight to the ceiling. This allows you to bounce the flash & get just the right amount of light.
Not too little & not too much. I have found the best, sharpest & most details are achieved with flash.

these pictures are great.
I just picked up the a6000 with the 16-70 lens from BHphoto about a week ago. Love it!

I love the flash on this camera, at allows you to use it to get better pictures. It is spring loaded & allows you to point it 90+ degrees upwards.
Take a shot with flash pointed at an angle to the ceiling. It creates the perfect amount of bounce & the small light that is needed for a cleaner shot. Some more shots:

Wow, those are great shots.
I picked up a Nikon Coolpix PS600. It is supposed to have a real good macro capability, but it doesn't work at all shooting through glass as you can't zoom focus in macro mode. You have to be really close. I am thinking of exchanging it for a D5300, but even your pic with the kit lens looks really good. Are the new pics with the kit lens, or a macro lens? |
