Jebao RW 20
Does anyone have this wavemaker yet? I am trying to see the big difference between the WP 60 vs Rw 20. I'm about to pull the plug and purchase one or the other. trying to see the differences. My tank is a 125 gallon the 6ft long version....

Jebao RW 20
I think the rw has more control over the flow and also has a more spread out flow

I have a couple of RW-15s I initially purchased for a 93 cube build. They will be far too strong for a 93 cube!
I tried one out in my 4' 120 tonight (almost done refilling after breaking it down to catch fish for ich treatment). It is dramatically stronger than a Tunze 6105. In fact, I'd say the difference between it and a 6105 is greater than the difference between a 6105 and a 6095 by a large margin. Turned about halfway up in ELSE (semi-random flow) mode, it was generating vortexes that were sucking bubbles down on the OPPOSITE SIDE of the tank. The amount of total water movement the single rw-15 generated was substantially greater than two 6095s set up to generate a gyre. I'd honestly be pretty shocked if the RW-15 proved inadequate for a 6' tank given how much power it has in a 4' tank. Very wide flow too. |

I just ordered three RW-8s for my 180 over the weekend. I have read so many reports that even dialed down all the way the RW-15s still caused sand storms in some tanks. I have a really fine sand and I know for sure it would more than likely cause a problem in my tank. I figured three of the RW-8s would work well. One on each side and one on the back. Hopefully I don't run into any syncing issues a couple guys had.

I have the rw20 running at 1/3 mode in my 180 blowing sand all over at the other end of the tank. It's one powerful pump...

I actually just ordered a pair of RW-8s. Maybe if I only kept SPS that prefer extreme high flow they'd do the trick, but I also have a few LPS corals, and honestly even many of SPS don't seem to like the flow that extreme.
The RW-15s were positioned as being similar to a WP-40 in terms of power, but it seems like they're probably closer to a WP-60. |

I'm getting ready to order soon. After reading the experiences you guys have had I think I'm going to use 2 rw-8 for a 72" 150g. Maybe can add a 3rd then if there are dead spots.

I have two rw20's in my 220 and it is way too much. I have to have it on the lowest setting. I have since ordered the 12v power supplies and its much better.
I would go for the RW15 next time. |

I went with a rw-20 and a rw-15 in my 180. It gives it a more wave in and wave out when opposite sides of the tank in communication mode. I have them both on the lowest settings but get great flow

Mujtaba,
The two RW-20 would probably work best for a 7ft tank imo. You just have to play with the locations in the tank with my rw-15 andrw-20 on both ends i have them turned down now but have the higher on the sides and do not have issues with sand storms. It is like any other power head you have play with locations to get it right. But i would say start on lowest setting and work you way up as you get things placed and see how the flow is moving. Rock work will change how the flow goes also.

I have 1 wp-40 in corner behind rock and one RW-20 on one side and it have this set on minimum flow and water moves pretty good and I have plenty of room if I need to dial up. This tank is a beast and quiet and great product for money. My tank dimensions are 48x32x32.

I had two RW-15 in my 75 gal tank (48'' long), was dialed down to min and was still too strong so I changed them to two RW-8 and now it's perfect. Also they are much smaller and looks better in the tank.

Staisman, I am trying to decide which RW's to get. Can you run the two RW-8's in else mode on your tank? What settings do you run them at?
