How old is your kessil

I just passed three years with.mine. How many years do you plan on getting out of yours?

Plan, or expect?

I have a few that are approaching 3 years of use. I did have one fail, but it was replaced under warranty. I'd hope that they'd last 10 years; we shall see.

I read lots of reports around the net of kessils failing within a year or two. Hope this isn't widespread as it appears.

Two 160's at just over 2 years here. Upgrading to a pair of AP700's soon, but will keep the 160's for a frag tank.

Keep the heatsink and fan clean, should last a long time.

Have my 350w(2) for over 2 years, purchased used. Cleaned the internal prior to taking a 1 year or more break from the hobby. Now using them again, internal do collect a lot of dust

As well, if you email Kessil they will walk you through disassembly to clean out the heatsink and fan.. or at least they still did last year.

My A360 We is 2 years old but I had an issue at about 9 months (weird dimming and flickering) which Kessil said could be from not blowing compressed air through the lamp to clean it regularly. They replaced the unit without a hitch. Paid for everything, shipping, etc. Great customer service!

It's difficult to draw any useful conclusions from 'reading lots of reports'. People are more likely to complain publicly than extol; and lots of knuckleheads.

Point well taken calore. It just feels like I haven't read as many reports with other brands. But, I'm all Kessil, so hope that's not the pattern.

Complain? Seriously?
I bought 2 360Ws and within 1 year both were replaced for failing. Sorry I didn't complain sooner.

I have one thats 3 yrs old, the fan made a slight noise. I took some canned air to it and its just as silent as the 2 yr olds.

Clean parts are happy parts.

That's more in the line of my thinking. After 3 years you can see a little drop of light input or spectrum change. Taking par readings would have been a good idea.
