condylactis anemone

Hey guys, I have a Condy and it does not seem to want to attach anywhere. When I 1st got him he dug in between a live rock and the sand. Now he just rests on the top. He will shrivel up and tuck his tentacles inside himself on a daily basis. Nitrites, Nitrates, Ammonia all at 0 and salinity is around 1.024-1.026. Water temperature moves from 76-80F. Any suggestions?

I also have another Anomne in the tank and he seems to be doing fine, I was told the Cody would stay on the rocks while the other will dig down in the sand. It seems no matter how much I separate them they keep ending up side by side. Will they kill each other?

in the picture it looks just fine to me although your tank looks very new. How long has the tank been set up, what size is it, what lighting? All of these things play a large part in anemone health.

What other kind of anemone?

How is the flow? If it is not attached, I would have expected flow to blow it around. If not, flow might be too low.

What other kind of anemone?

About 5 months old, converted from fresh to saltwater. I have a T5 Odyssea light set up with a Fluval 306 canister filter rated for 303 gph. My tank is 36 gallons

I was told it is a Sebae Anemone.

You need more than just the flow from the canister filter. I would get a small powerhead.

Just got a new Live rock and put the Cony on top away from the Sebae, He seems to be happier up their, Hopefully, he stays put and likes to be closer to the light. Will be getting a powerhead this weekend. On the other hand, my starfish killed my turbo snail and keeps trying to eat the other one, Is this common?

I have a Condy that I got a month ago from Petco. It's been a month in my tank (technically 28 days). It had white tentacles initially and now the tentacles had turned brown which is a sign of good healgh. The tank is now 3 months old and there is already coralline algae growing at the back glass. There's also Isopods and copepods in the tank.

We have a similar rock in this photo and similar condy placement. My condy has not moved from his rock. The PAR reading on this rock is from 75 ton125. The flow I have is enough to bend a Kenya tree on one direction. So i don't think it's just about the number of months your tank has been up.

Also the anemone doesn't look like a condy. At least it doesn't look like the one I have. I see more similarity with Long Tentacle which I have on my other tank.

That's a bad picture, This guy was white 1st as well. Here he is enjoying his new spot.

Also just added these 2 guys to my tank Friday.

I would add a background... it does a lot to focus attention to the contents of your tank rather than the wires etc behind it. You will be amazed how nice it looks with a black or dark blue to black faded background.

Yea I know, I just haven't got around to it yet. Will probably do something this weekend.
