Of course, the shimmer for me is a big reason for the Kessil but not the only reason. Aaron

While Kessil is busy posting stupid pictures of clam shells on their Facebook, I emailed the beta guy and asked him when they were updating the app and he said, as usual, "very soon."
I want to run the updated app on my iPad. I wonder if this is just a low priority side project for them. For a $900 light, they should take it more seriously. |

Yes, I would be frustrated also. But I've been happy so far with the beta, I've set it up once and only changed it twice I think. So I'm not in any hurry. Aaron

Anyone have any clue what Kessil's MACNA announcement could be? They're posting sea shells and paws.

My guess is it's some type of optic. Either way I'll probably end up buying it. Personally I wish they focused on the software that they currently have glitches with. Or do both but keep us updated on the software. Less time focusing on paw shell pics. More time updating current users on progress. Stepping off my pedestal now

So Kessil posted a new video and at the end it looks like the outline of a fixture, so they may be updating the A360W.

Good guess but it's not a 360w update.

All I can say is AP700 owners have nothing to fear about the light changing or being replaced. It will still be the top of the line Kessil light!

My guess is that they are coming out with a new fixture. Single puck like A160/A360, but low profile like the AP700. This product will compete with AI Prime and Radion XR15 in the Nano/Cube market and also for consumers that uses multiples of them on bigger tanks.
The good news is that this fixture got to be WIFI controllable. That means that it will be using the same app as the AP700. The new version of this app must roll out before or when this new fixture hits the market. Do I get a fixture if my guess was right?

I didn't mean a new app. And update from the 3.2 (Beta) version to maybe a 4.0
Hell...Why not? Microsoft skipped Windows 9... And no one say anything about it.

They skipped Windows 9 to avoid collisions with Windows 95/98 references in programming. For example, many systems use wildcards like "Windows 9.*" (which is crude regex for "find any string that starts with 'Windows 9'") when determining which platform a computer is running. Terms like "Windows 98" were continually used well after the death of the actual OS as a more general reference to the Windows platform. It's all the result of short-sighted, poor programming practices... but that's basically the reason for it. Had they used "Windows 9", they likely would have wreaked havoc on an immeasurable number of pieces of software including much of the internet (since many sites depend on identifying the platform you are using). That's my nerd-out moment of the day. |

Well since Reefbreeders broke the story already, it is a new nano light. A80. 1/2 the power of the A160.

Sounds like a pretty cool product for a nano tank. I would love to put two over my Nuvo 20. I'm just worried about pricing....

It is a great light! I was looking at a sample the other day and noticed that it had a lens similar to the lenses the new Radions had!

With Nano's people don't want to run an Apex or a spectral controller. I really hope they added wifi. I will buy one immediately. Could be a solid product for them if it does. If not, its a generation old already.... |
