What/how to feed a large (12") RBTA?

I tried the same krill I feed my smaller nems, but it didn't even seem to register that there was food on it, maybe it's too small for it to notice?

I used to feed silversides but I had a nem die when it "stole" an extra one and then got bound up inside from the bones.

Raw shrimp? Scallops? Some sort of whitefish?

I feed mine bay scallops. I get the frozen ones from the grocery store and thaw them in tank water. I smash them up into chunks and then target feed with a turkey baster.

I feed mysis and 1/4" chunks of raw shrimp...
but it makes me wonder if there's something wrong when you said "but it didn't even seem to register that there was food on it".....my nems will grab onto any size meal they can. I only direct feed the shrimp. Mysis is fed to the tank and they catch what they can...

has your nem eaten anything?

Is it new to the aquarium? At times, it takes awhile before it will take food. I feed all of mine, freeze dried krill.

It has yet to eat anything as far as I can tell, but it's only been in the tank a week and is only recently opening to full size, so maybe it's just not ready to go yet. It's not looking particularly hungry just yet.
