Flow rate GPH

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this but it is reef related.

I’m trying to determine flow through a UV sterilizer. So I’ve been trying to see how long it takes to fill a pail with 1 gallon of water. Obviously 1 gal per minute is 60 HPH. How can I determine the flow rate in GPH if 1 gallon fills the pail in 52 seconds.

69.23gph if my math is right.

60x60 = 3600 seconds in an hour

Then 3600/52 should give you 69.23gph

Take that SAT test

My mistake, it should be 25 seconds instead of 52. By that formula I calculate 144 GPH.

Not only should I take the SAT but I should wear my glasses to post.

Sounds right to me.

I guess you can also do 25/60=2.4gpm
Then 2.4 x 60= 144gph
