I have this exact unit for my 60"x18"x24" high tank and couldn't be happier. I briefly considered getting the 8 bulb unit but it would have been too much spill over.

It is up to you but I would go with the 8 bulb with your size tank and you can grow what ever you want anywhere in the tank. Plus you have such a better color selection with 8 bulbs.

For reference my LEDs don't go past 50% right now. I slowly add 10% every month. I will cook the corals.

I was thinking of switching to ATI from my pacific sun but now I am scared. Atleast my pac sun doesnt have flickering leds, or looses time. The internal clock ran ahead and we complained. Pac sun updated software to fine tune the clock and all is well.

I still want this fixture to compare them both. Lets see how soon ATI fixes the bugs so I can purchase it. So there is no guarantee that if I bought the fixture today I will recieve the new controller.

Hi ssdawood,

I really recommend the ATI Powermodule over any other fixture as long as you don't have any issues and you don't mind having to program it with a MS Windows computer.

In this moment I think it's a matter of luck and if you go for the ATI one make sure you are sent the new controller (I bought it less than two months ago and got the old faulty one).

+1 would highly recommend the ATI Hybrid. I am getting better and better colours from my SPS as each week goes by.

With regards to the Controller, I wouldnt call it faulty...unless ATI confirmed it is a fault? -If so, I certainly havent seen it mentioned as such by anyone in this thread.

I think these are minor improvements ATI have incorporated along the way.

For example. I have the newer controller that keeps the time, but my 8 tube ATI unit didnt come with the clip to hold the Plexiglass (Plexiglass sags a bit on the 8 tube units...I got the older version without the clip.

Dashiki has good news in any event.

Rodney, those are awesome shots. Corals look happy and nicely coloured. Jealous of that Pink Millepora!

Thanks Bob for the info !
I was wondering , if I get the 8 bulb, would it be possible to just run it with 6 bulbs ?

Not possible. You can only run 4 or 8 tubes.

I've had this light over my tank for almost 2 weeks and running the T5 at 100% and LED at 40% max. All corals are responding positively and one of the acros that showed rapid color improvement was my pink millipora.

Programming was a bit annoying and took sometime. If it wasn't for Sahin's super helpful video, I don't know if I would've kept trying or sent the light back. Thank you Sahin!

Overall, the programming software needs much improvement. They should include a manual in the software and give you simple pointers on getting started.

Here are a few pictures of my acros under this fixture:

Question about spread of the LEDs.

I am about to set up a frag tank and within a year or two I will move my current lighting over to the frag tank and get an ATI hybrid on the main display. I will be using a 24" model and don't know if the leds will provide enough coverage on a 36" long tank. My t5s cover fine but the LEDs are right in the middle of the fixture.

Can anyone give input on the LED spread?

You switched from GHL Mitras to ATI LED PM! Which unit did you go for?

Photos look nice! Glad the corals have responded well to the new lights. Pinks/Reds are the main coral colours that are usually complained about, under 100% LED's. So the fact that your Pink Millepora responded means it was a lighting issue and not a water parameter issue.

My pink millepora turned HOT PINK under the T5/LED combo:

I'm glad the Tutorial video helped. The software is actually very simple once you get the hang of it.

Yes, run the T5's at 100% and the LED's a lot lower, the LED's have a greater potential to bleach/pale out colours. What's your T5 combo?

A single LED cluster covers a 24" long spread. I have a 24" unit over my 30" long tank and the T5+LED combined, just covers that length for SPS corals. The LED Cluster is right in the middle on the 24" units.

All the other units have 2 or more clusters which are spread out towards the ends and so they can cover a length greater than the length of the unit.

If you have a 36" long tank, I would go for the 36" unit...I hope my explanation above makes sense why.

Hey Sahin,

I went for the 36" 2x75W led with 4x39W T5. The coverage is perfect and having the two led clusters really provides optimal coverage and even light distribution.

As for the T5 combo, I went with 2x Blue plus, 1x coral plus, and 1x purple plus. Your millipora is looking awesome, I'm hoping my piece will turn to something similar.

Cpllongjk, if you're doing mainly SPS, go for the 36" unit.

Guys with 60" units, i see that T5s are not dimmable is it a problem to set up a correct program or how corals react if you run T5s at full run? i am looking into 80w and seems like there is no dimmable t5s on the market...
