Mega-bubbles from sump

I posted a message about the micro- bubbles in my tank and I had some replies about the cause being cavitation. Here are some pics of my plumbing. Could I get some comments?
How do you design a plumbing system that doesn't cause cavitation?

Open the valve on the inlet all the way and see if that helps..
Not sure why you have that partially closed.. Thats not helping..

You probably aren't having cavitation issues with that setup though..
The 2 x 90 deg elbows isn't ideal but shouldn't be causing any real issues..
It may be the combination of the elbows and valve but I kind of doubt it too...

Since you can move the pump setting it up (temporarily) so that its a straight shot into the pump without any elbows wouldn't hurt and would narrow your problem down quickly..
