Seems like theres some drama regarding Photobucket. Rumor is that they want to charge $400 a year to host images... I might have to open up a dropbox.

BRS RO/DI

Dry fitting everything. Trying to squeeze this manifold in there..

I'm using the the other drain in the sump for recirculation. I got the idea from CJ's reef tank on Youtube. I think it's gonna make cleaning the sump a lot easier. I picked up the Current USA dc pump (1050 gph) so it should turn the sump water over enough to get the detritus into the filter socks.

Subbed. Really, really cool build so far. Your wood work and plumbing is very nice! I love that you can access the front and back of the sump, that's going to be handy.

Thanks! I've been playing around with the plumbing a bit. I built the stand 32" tall so that the tank would be viewable from above, as well as three sides. The downside is trying to make everything fit. I'm getting creative, and taking plenty of time to consider all options before I break out the pvc cement!

Nice setup! Following along this build. Curious to see how you finalize the plumbing.

Great build so far, I'm actually picking my 80g deep blue rimless on Friday! What skimmer is that?

wow, nice work so far!

i'm back lurking on the forums after an 8 year hiatus (kids, crazy job) as well...in the middle of moving to a new to me house and after i close later this month, i will be back into this amazing hobby. I will be relying on this build for inspiration! I built my own stand last time and will probably do so again this time.

Thanks Badkharma. Did some more building today. Made the Apex panel. Happy with the result. Still working on how to lay out the components.

Before, during, and after...

Wow, great work on the stand! The setup inside the stand is as pretty as a lot of DTs!

I assume the chaeto reactor has waterproof LED's but i would trust them submerged into the water.

I would ditch the check valve IMO. It will fail eventually.

Your just using the one drain correct? I thought about converting to a herbie but really don't want to do a return over the top or drill the back. Think I'm going to keep it just the one durso.

If your keeping just the one drain, I wouldn't put the valve on it, another failure point to worry about.
