Sicce PSK-1000 skimmer pump
Hello,
I'm working on a custom skimmer and plan to use a Sicce PSK-1000 skimmer pump. Does anyone know what the best volute is for this pump? So far I've only been able to find two vendors that sell this pump with venturi, Avast Marine Works with custom venturi and Marine Depot sells the Aquamax venturi. The Avast version is said to pull ~800 l/h but don't have any information on the Aquamax venturi. Anyway, any help on finding the best venturi for the Sicce PSK-1000 skimmer pump would be appreciated, thanks.

I tried several volutes and settled on the AquaMax one. The difference in volutes is the opening for water and how far away from the impeller the venturi is. Changes in these two areas impact how much air/water is drawn in and tweaking those is a fun little project.

Thanks for the responce Jack, Would it be possible to send a picture of your current venturi setup? I know going the custom route will probably yeild the best results but would like to start out from a good base point.

Pedro, I don't think it will help, mine is fashioned as a recirc and you cannot really see anything, but you are welcome to look. :-) It is the venturi you are changing, not the volute. Sorry I didn't catch that a minute ago.

Well, my original thinking was there wasn't other volutes out there so I'll look into trying different one as well. Where did you get your aquamaxx volute?

I take it back, it wasn't an AquaMaxx it was the RLSS one, it came from Salty Supply. I have a lot of venturi's in a box.

Quick question, I just bought a psk -1000 kit from a guy who bought it for his bubble magus skimmer. The venturi on it is designed for a space saver style skimmer is this going to be a problem if I put it on my non space saver style skimmer reef octopus pro 250
