Possible pest on Candy Cane Coral
Hi,
I have my very fist LPS coral in quarantine now for 5 weeks, and these small white cone shaped things are appearing on my frag. Are they a pest? I didn't recognize it at all from pics of common pests, and they only appeared recently. I did dip the coral before introducing it. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk |

They kind of look like pineapple sponges to me but the pic isn't really clear enough to tell...

Hmm, yeah, they do look very similar to that. They have the cone thing on top too. I'll have to look into them a bit.

They are harmless filter feeders, IMO. My tank had a ton during the first year of “new tank syndrome”
