Getting my first clam
Going down to the Pet Shanty after work to pick up my first clam. tank has been established for over a year now and i have the led lights so i figure i'll give it a try.
Any tips on how to acclimate and placement? best food and how to feed? ( i was reading the sticky's and looks like they need live phytoplankton for the best chance of survival? ) just looking for some tips from ppl who have successfully kept clams i want mine to live a long and healthy life.

1. Where do you have it placed in the tank? (top, bottom, or middle) 2. how big was it when you first got it?

if you feed the fish, you feed the clam. they will filter what they need from the water column. smart to wait for 1 yr for tank to be established.

I have it placed on the sandbed 24" down with no optics on most the led's. Every third led i have a 80 degree optic. It was 2.5" when i got it now it is about 7"

I have a clam that was a spontaneous growth in the tank along with 4 plume worms of some variety. It is a new tank but all became visible after we got a couple of snails to help with the housecleaning. Good to know that the clam will care for itself. It is in a fowlr tank.
