Bhazzard. Would your mod work on an a6? I assume so. I like your comment on dimming by pot. Turning the knob on a pot might be easier.

I see they now have red and green http://www.aliexpress.com/store/prod...586828063.html I like the middle of the page tells you how many fixtures you need for certain size tanks. 4 a6s for a 72 inch tank seems like alot considering you only need 1 for a 36 inch tank. I have 2 on a 4ft 120gal, can't imagine 4 on a 6 ft tank unless it is 30 inches wide

The combo with red/green seems to be the nicest so far. It would look just like the fixture I have over my tank now. Once I finish retrofitting the Nova with Crees and Luxeons, I'll probably sell the temp d120 I have over my tank. |

bhazzard.. im puling the trigger on one unit.. the a6. to see how it works out.. what to do you think about this config.
24 white.. cool? 3 green 3 red 3 violet or do uv? 36 royal blue optics 90 degree. you mentioned spotting.. think i can do the red greens in 120 optics.. or would that be expecting to much from sam to do two different optics? thanks

I need some advise on what kind and how many LED fixtures I need for my tank. My tank is 72"l x 30"w x 22"h. Many SPS with some LPS. Currently using a Photon with 4 x 250w MH and 12 x 36" T5.
I am looking at the Nova A6 and the 55 x 3w square fixtures (http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/58...ium_Light.html). Which of these fixtures would you recommend and how many do you think I will need? |

So, do you think this light would be close to 20k 250w MH radion bulbs? do you think there are too many red & green? http://www.aliexpress.com/store/prod...586828063.html I'm trying to get a 20k look but not all blue but with some bright white. I don't want it too dark.

The Nova 6's look nice, but I don't see a mix of violet, green and red. Can one get these added and what configuration would you suggest? Ideally I'd like each pod of LED's to have a consistent mix of colors that I could dim to achieve an overall color I was happy with. Three Nova 6's arranged length-wise look similar in price to 4 d120's arranged width-wise. Also, I'd like to be able to ram up the lighting. Right now I turn on my actinic T5's, then duo and fuji T5's and finally my MH's all controlled by my Aquacontroller 3. Your input is much appreciated. I am very happy with my coral growth and am approaching the switch to LED's with a lot of trepidation. I don't want to damage my SPS and undo years of pain-staking efforts. |

What you can't do is use your Aquacontroller to dim the lights. These lights are not made to do it. It requires extensive modification and different led drivers. |

I am looking at the same lights. I am half tempted to see if they will leave the optics off of the red and greens which might help a little with the spotlighting.
