Vertex Puratek RO/DI unit

Hello Jeremy,
I am in Canada, but we dont have anyone with ure expertice up here, so Im gonna ask you, hopefully you can help me out with this

I have been using a puratek 100 GPD unit for about 3 years now. recently, it is not making much water, I changed all the media, same story. check the source water and its fine.

it starts making water, then the green LED goes on indicating "source water" and unit shuts off. its off for like 3 mins, then turns back on for 30 seconds, makes water, and same story again ! making about 7 Gallons a day now !!!

do you think its one of the solenoids ? or should I replace the unit ?

Yes, it's most likely a solenoid on the input side of the unit going into the membranes. I'd replace this and you should be good to go again.

yap amazing unit, I think replacing all the solenoids would cost same as buying a new one now though :S specially if I have to replace the membrance too.

hey my friend, do you mean the membrane was never changed? In 3 years?

Well then save your money for the solenoid valves and change the membrane first, should solve the issue.

Best regards
Nicolas

no of coruse I have changed it when its due

last replacement was 2 weeks back ! thoguht it would fix the problem but nope

more bad news for me though ... I bought a new and second unit .... hoook it up, and its same .... so now I think its the self piercing saddle valve, gonna try a faucet adaptor next ...

question for you guys thuogh. if my source water pressure is actually this low ... would using 2 x 100 GPD units make more water ? or is the total water made dependant of the pressure ? should I T off the source line, and feed both of the units ?

Sorry, just want to get sure if i understand you properly. Sometimes i'm missunderstand it in englisch.

What pressure Shows the pressure gauge?
Did you maybe checked if the water stops at an point in the Puratek?

If the water comes in the booster pump makes the pressure but check if the inlet pressure is alright? Maybe one of the elbows is cloaked?

If the second one makes the same now check where they using the same equipement/connection and check if there is the pressure ok?

Let me know so we can figure something out. Maybe a picture will make my job easier from here....a few thousand miles away...

Best regards
Nicolas
