Aquabus cable replacement? USB to USB?

Looks like I've misplaced my Aquabus cable that goes to the control module to the power bar. Can I just replace the cable with a USB to USB cable? or is there some proprietary software I need to worry about?

Although neptune will tell you they are proprietary cables, I have several USB to USB cables on my apex and various modules.

I think your fine as long as your only connecting apex modules to each other. The problem with normal USB is they can also carry power which can fry the apex if hooked up to anything besides it's own modules.

That is correcto mondo.
3 things to watch out for.
Only plug in Apex devices. (as stated above)
Keep cable away form 120/240v power cables. (can cause interference).
Try to use 1 cable for long runs.(cable extensions can cause problems)
