new tank
Just bought a new 215 Gals Oceanic reef ready tank. I will like to set it up using not cheap but good reliable filter, powerheads, skimmer ect... without breaking the bank. Can someone please help!

Most reefers run their tanks (especially large ones) without a power filter

+1 here as well, if you have plenty of rock and flow plus a decent skimmer you wouldnt need any other filterationof course a deep sand bed would also be nice

The tank size dictates a lot of the equipment. Ex - I am setting up a 125. While I am definitely going overboard on some of the items, my costs are lining up like this so far - USED tank/sumo/stand/canopy: 500 deltec turbo skimmer TS1250 : 775 test kits, heaters, powerheads, misc basics: 400 T5 retrofit lighting: 600 Filter guys RO/DI (one of their pricier units) 300 and I have not begun the plumbing layout yet (plus I did not include the RKE controller as many do not buy these) add rock, sand..... man this hobby costs some $$$$$$$ edit... and my projected costs for live rock and live sand are $1K-2K depending on what I buy (cured/bare/fancy/etc). The thing is - the larger tank requires a larger skimmer and more lighting - two of the things that you do not want to skimp on. You can look at the DIY and equipment forums for ideas of how you can go much cheaper on the skimmer (the deltec is one of the pricier ones) and many great sump ideas. The best bet - look over the used forums and the reef club sites on RC. There are always a lot of decent quality items up for much less than new. That is how I found my tank. I even had a decent price on a different deltec model - but I would rather deal with a new skimmer and lighting for my 1st tank.
