Overflow question

I bought a used marine land reef ready 53 gallon cube manufactured in 2009. I plan to convert the durso to herbie. But I can't fit parts or my hands in overflow to work on it. Is the only way to access it is by cutting silicon on black over flow and resealing it back on. Or does it have a panel that can be removed to work in chamber. It heavily crusted coralline and can't tell and don't want to force and break it.

Thanks

Can't you just remove the nuts on the bulkheads and simply pull the piping up and out of the overflow box.. Then do what you need to do and put it back together like that?

That was going to be my question/suggestion too. Pull the bulkheads out, dry fit things in place, put the bulkheads back, check plumbing, adjust/glue as necessary.

the challenge is overflow is very narrow only 2 inches at wide point and the holes are on the back of the glass. The only way to get the old bulk heads out was to saw it off at the thread area. The only thing i could think of was saw they thread area on the new bulk heads or find a way to remove part or all of the overflow. I really done want remove overflow was hoping there was a secret panel i was missing since it was crusted.

Did you knock 3 times on the back while standing on your left leg?
The secret door should reveal itself..

Got a picture of the overflow?
I thought all reef ready tanks had bulkheads in the bottom and corner overflows..

Here is my plan.

Top hole I plan to leave a open bulkhead for emergency drain
Bottom Hole the syphon main drain.

The only way to get a new bulk head in is to cut about 1/2 inch off back of thread area. I'm buying slip bulk heads so i should have no issues plumbing it in

It is the world thinnest over flow with odd holes on back glass but I think i can make it work.
Still open to ideas
