Clearing out mushrooms
I got a few shrooms that happened to be on the bottom of a frag plug of acro from a buddy. No problem, he considered them pests but I think they look pretty cool. Well, they have covered the rock I attached the frag to and started on another rock now. No big deal, I still like how they look, but I would like to thin them out a little. How do I go about doing this? The rock is on the top of my scape and is not glued in so I thought the easiest way would be to remove the rock from the tank and put it in a bowl of water change water the next time I do a water change. My biggest question, how do I remove the shrooms from the rock? From what I've read, you just cut them at the attachment point. But if you leave any flesh on the rock it will just grow back. Do I need to scrub the rock where I remove them from?

Cover them in kalk paste.

Best bet IMO is to take the rock out, Remove the Acro, and bleach the rocks. They will always be a pain and once they show up on more of your rockwork you’ll regret not getting rid of them when you still had a chance.

Trade the rock out at your local store for trade or credit?
