Plumbing has began
Tall pipe with orange cap floor drain
Small one with orange cap sink drain

I have a question
The side of my tank the width will be going against a outside wall.

1. It will be going tight against it
Should I put drywall and painted it right away (will never have access to that side of tank)

2. Should I leave like 6 inches of space then I can drywall and somehow paint later. (This will push my tank further in room just trying to minimise going out this far.)

Just thought of this issue before my tank is installed and I'm like oh oh now what.

You definitely want to insulate and seal that wall for moisture before the tank goes anywhere near it. How will you protect those wooden sill plates and studs along the wall if there is spillage or leakage or fkupage? You will want to keep the tank off the wall at least 6" to let you get back there to deal with inevitable future problems. Best would be to put a fish room back there but that might push the tank further into the room than you had planned for.

I think I will leave 6 inches from wall to edge of tank
We are getting it sprayed foamed than drywall.

I will be painting it with bathroom paint.

Oh there is a fish room going g behind the tank. Where the plumbing is on the pic.

I have a door frame and part of my tank bottom nailed to the floor.

It starting to take shape.

We opted to leave a 6inch gap in the left side so I have some access to that part of the tank.

Stand coming soon

If we need to shim the stand what do you use so under the weight it won't break the shims.

We are going to build the tank spec as the floor from the left to right goes down I think 1 inch.

Better to use self-leveling compound to level the floor first, reducing or eliminating the need for shims in the first place.

We are in a big delay our dricore has to be ripped out and the floor has to be leveled for the 3rd time. They made a big mistake.

Tank is delayed again.

are you tapering the floors to the drain or will it be flat?

i am new to this forum but i am building a new home over the next 8 months and i am going to put a 250-300g tank in so i really will be following this thread.

i have attached my plan (starting plan) but have not secured anything yet.

It only needs to be level under the stand. This can be achieved by building a small dam with plywood strips and pouring levelling compound into it. The rest of the room can be sloped to the floor drain.

Well we re poured the basement and now it's drying.

So dricore back in tomorrow if the floor is level.
Then walls will go up
Then plumbing and electrical will start and stand will be built.

Above the tank for lights.

How do you know where to put supporting structure if you place up you ceiling and don't know what light you are planing to get?

Need some advice things are moving way to fast now.

I definitely wouldn't drywall it. That turns into a big hassle when you need to make changes down the road. There are a lot of ceiling treatments you can buy. I used something similar to this. Although it is a pain, they can be removed and reinstalled. I've done it a couple of times. You could always build a rack for your lights. That would let you use any type of light you want and the anchor points would stay the same.
