treatment? ID?
day 1 by Li Cai, on Flickr
day 1 photo want to see if anyone can give me a positive id of this little guy. i think it's a gig, but smallest gig that i had ever seen. it's about the size of half a dollar. smooth blue/purple ish column. the mouth is tight when i saw it before purchase. should i start the treatment right away? or give it a couple of days

postively ID, it open up a bit nicer today.blue spots all over the up 1/2 of the column. this carpet is tiny. open up just about 2-2.5" across.
the tentacles also very short, so i decide to do the treatment right away. will see how that goes.

after the first 12 hrs cipro treatment, i can't tell if any "black stuff" came out since the carpet is so small.
i think it got a little bit better. the carpet is a bit puffier, the tentacles got a little bit longer. mouth still open a little. some tentacles do have movement when I shut down the power head, which isn't noticeable before treatment. the carpet still pancake-like, didn't hold shape yet, let's hope the improvement keep coming.

it can't be rock anemone since rock anemone doesn't have tentacles on the oral disc.
it can't be a fuzzy shroom, because shroom doesn't have linelike tentacles on the oral disc that gig has. on top of all that, you cant "peel" hairy/fuzzy shroom of any rock easier without hurt it and it won't be attached to surface within mins. furthermore, shroom doesn't have the blue dots on the column as gig do. i have hairy/fuzzy shroom bigger than this gig...

If you could turn down the blues, an ID would be more accurate....

Yes, it a gig but in very bad shape. I rarely see them recover when in such a bad condition.

yeah, it's very bleached and bad shape, after 2 treatments, it seem getting a bit better, it start to hold the shape, tentacles getting longer, more movement when waterflow is turn off and the mouth is tight. it balled up at night no more invert itself, i saw it deflated the first time in past 48hrs and the mouth is tight when it deflated. i didnt find anymore black pellet from the mouth. i did miss a dose yesterday, i got 2 finals, by the time i remebered i need to do the treatment already super late at night. i will continue the treatment tonight and for 5 more days. let's see how it goes.
