Any Reef Keepers in South GA (Valdosta)

Are there any reef enthusiasts in or around Valdosta GA?

I live in Kingsland/St. Mary's area. The closest reef club is in Jacksonville, but I would love something in south GA. Let me know what you think. PM if you can - Nate

Yup, but you knew that. I live in brunswick. I am a member of nfmas in jax as well. We have members from as far north as brunswick, and south as far as St. Augustine. We do have a member in kingsland as well. I know it is a bit of a drive to jax, but come to a meeting sometime. It's free, and lots of nice folks attend. For more info on the next meeting, checkout nfmas.org

RayCity,

Yep, right here in good old Valdosta. I guess you know about Exotic Fish here...best place.

I even like the fish in Raycity...at the Millpond!

Getting there slowly...
2 BTA's, clump of Green star Polyps, Blue shrooms, Red Shrooms, Pulsing xenia, tons of dusters, and a zoo that I'm not to sure of.
2 Maroon clowns that live in a semblance of harmony, foxface, yellow tang, pajama cardinal, lawnmower blenny, and a coral beauty for livestock.
Cleanup is done by a single sand sifting star, brittle star, serpent star, a couple mexicans, with snails and blue/red crabs to finish. Hitchhikers consist of a "black" urchin, and one bristle worm (one that I saw that is).
Lighting is with 4-VHO's 3 Actinic, one white, so I have held off on stony's until I am more comfortable with my setup, first sw and all.
Sooo, yes, it's a reef, but not a good one yet!?!

Wow sounds great. How old is it? My newly converted 100 is a reef that has been reborn for the 3rd time in six years. All the LR is original (6 years running). I did all the coral stocking though. And your right, around here Exotic Fish is the best. I am starting to strech my search now that I have become more comfortable owning a reef. I heard stuff about a place in Ablany and one in Thomasville. I am going to Gainesville in not too long, to trade some frags. There is just not a lot of people around here that have reefs, but I know I'm not the only one in Valdosta buying this stuff. Who made you 100 Gal?

I live in Douglas. Have 2 reef tanks but right now I'm not in a club, too far to drive. Just surf online with questions or problems. I drive to Savannah to Exotic Underworlds to buy livestock because he has the best tanks I have seen in Georgia and N. Florida.

Tons of reefkeepers in brunswick? Would be interested in meeting a few. I know there has to be a couple, but haven't met anyone other than a few people who keep fowlr tanks.

Also, try some stores in jax for livestock. Last time I was at exotic underworlds in savannah (been a over a year now), they were limited to softies for coral. Do they sell acros now?

Ha! true.... so true.....

I'm all for getting a group together for a frag swap. I'm sure I could get permission at a LFS to host it.

Hell, I have been trying to do that for months. I finally had to connect with some folks in Jville and Gville. I felt like I was the only reefer in Valdosta but I knew I wasn't the only one buying this stuff.
