AHHHH my tradewind chiller is not cool anymore

All right desperately seeking answer. My 1/2 hr tradewind chiller decide to take a break. Still turn on fan still work but not cool. Already vacuum the condenser. My question is I saw a port to put freon in like in the car a/c can I just buy a can of auto freon and pump it in
If anybody can recommend a repair man that will be great
Thanks
Anthony

No freon is a sign that their is a leak. Best to get it fixed prior to refill.

I don't know if the freon run out this chiller is about 6 to 7 years old so I presume the freon is used up

Almost any air conditioner repair shop should be able to take a look at it.

I would give Hal @ tradewinds a call. You can drive down go get lunch and bring him back something and I am sure it could be done before you know it. Here is his number

Anthony you can fill with gas the chiller, you only need to buy the parts on amazon or ebay. Piercing valve, manometers, connections for gas tank and gas, around $35
I did with my, but it had a leak on the coils
There are some videos on YouTube how to refill a refrigerator, pretty much the same

Thank I bought ac pro from pepboy and the fitting don't fit. Calling tradewind tomorrow see what they say. Anybody know that we can use hydro farm chiller for Reef tank? They have some decent price for 1/2 hp chiller
